Brokusatsu Episode 21 - Garo YOTM 11-14 - Feeling Weird and Attacked All Over

We're heading back to Vol City, for a quartet of episodes that leave us feeling... really weird!  In the first, some strange writing combines with an underdeveloped character arc, leading to some truly odd characterization that might be actually interesting in a genre that cares about its female leads.

 

Next, we advance the plot with an ep that follows directly from some of the most important episodes in the show, with some good action that sets the stage for the show's latter half!  Some offhand comments (that hopefully aren't us reading too much into things / another translation quirk) kinda spoil the pot!

 

Third is a great character ep for Aguri, showing the progress he's made since the series began, and containing some very strong emotional scenes with the whole cast!  Too bad the real-life actor turned out to be not so great a person.

 

Finally, Hyena.  Hyena.  ...Why?

 

Are there any Toku shows with explicit LGBT content we won't hate?  Is "death of the actor" a thing too?  WHY HYENA?
